Custom software · UK small businesses

Custom admin dashboards for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets.

I’m Martin from MHDev. I build custom admin dashboards and internal CRM-style systems for small businesses that need a better way to manage jobs, customers, orders, documents, stock, and internal workflows.

I work with a small number of clients at a time so each dashboard gets proper attention before and after launch.
Sound familiar?

Running the business from spreadsheets, paper, and WhatsApp?

Spreadsheets everywhereStaff copy the same information between spreadsheets, and nobody is sure which version is right.
Paper job sheetsJobs get written down, lost, retyped, or forgotten between the office and the field.
Information scatteredCustomer details live in email, WhatsApp, Excel, and someone’s memory — never in one place.
Duplicated admin workThe same details get entered three times into three different places, every single day.
No clear overviewYou can’t quickly see what’s quoted, what’s in progress, what’s overdue, or what’s been invoiced.
Software that doesn’t fitOff-the-shelf tools force your team to work around the software instead of the other way round.

If any of that sounds familiar, a custom admin dashboard built around your actual workflow can pull it all into one secure, private system for your team.

What I build

Custom admin dashboards and internal CRM-style systems

A custom admin dashboard is a private internal system for your staff. Depending on your business, it might work like a CRM, job management system, quote tracker, stock system, document manager, or workflow dashboard. The important part is that it’s built around your actual process — instead of forcing your team into generic software.

Custom admin dashboards

The core service. A secure online system for managing jobs, orders, quotes, customers, stock, documents, and internal workflows — with staff logins, role permissions, search and filtering, dashboard summaries, exports, and reporting shaped around how your business runs.

Internal CRM-style systems

Some systems work like a custom internal CRM — a customer database with enquiry tracking, quote follow-ups, notes, job and order history, and staff tasks. Others go broader than CRM, covering stock, documents, and business-specific processes generic tools can’t handle.

Workflow automation

Built into the dashboard, not sold as buzzwords: automatic email notifications, spreadsheet processes converted into proper database workflows, PDF generation from records, scheduled reports and exports, CSV imports, and simple API connections where they genuinely save time.

Practical AI-assisted admin Optional add-on

Where it saves real admin time: summarising notes and customer records, extracting data from uploaded documents, drafting customer emails from internal information, categorising enquiries, and turning messy text into structured records. No “AI transformation” promises.

Business websites Secondary

I can build simple business websites and frontend pages, especially where they connect to an admin system — but custom internal systems are the main focus, not web design.

Technical SEO audit Secondary

A one-off practical review of your existing website: technical issues, page structure, metadata, headings, indexing, and speed. No ongoing content writing, link building, or monthly SEO packages. Details below.

How it works

A clear process, from first call to a working system

Free initial call

A short 20–30 minute conversation to understand your business problem, explain the options, and decide together whether a custom admin dashboard makes sense for you.

Paid discovery & workflow review

We go through your current spreadsheets, paperwork, and processes in detail. You get a short written recommendation: an MVP feature list, estimated build cost, and care plan suggestion — useful even if you don’t proceed. Can be credited against the build if agreed.

MVP scope agreed

We agree a fixed-scope first version that solves one clear business problem or workflow properly. Anything outside the agreed scope is handled as additional development, so there are no surprises.

Build the first version

I build the dashboard — database, forms, tables, logins, permissions, and workflows — with check-ins along the way so it matches how your team actually works.

Launch & handover

Secure hosted deployment with SSL, secure staff login, and database backups set up. Your team gets a walkthrough so everyone knows how to use the system from day one.

Ongoing care & evolution

A monthly care plan keeps the system hosted, backed up, updated, and supported. New features are added as separate paid work when your business needs become clearer.

The first version is intentionally focused. Most admin dashboards keep evolving after launch — once your team uses the system daily, the next most valuable features become obvious. Those are added as clearly quoted follow-up work, not squeezed into a vague unlimited plan.

Pricing

Transparent pricing, with no unlimited-work promises

MVP admin dashboards start from £2,500, with managed hosting and support from £79/month. Extra features and ongoing development are quoted separately or billed at the agreed hourly rate.

Project & build stage

One-off work to get from a first conversation to a working system: initial call, discovery, the MVP / Phase 1 build, and any extra development after that.

After launch: monthly care plans

If MHDev hosts and manages your system, a monthly care plan keeps it hosted, backed up, updated, and supported. Care plans are not development subscriptions — new features are separate paid work.

Basic Care

£79/month
For small, low-traffic admin dashboards with simple requirements.
  • Managed hosting setup
  • Cloudflare DNS & SSL setup
  • Daily database backup setup
  • Email support
  • Up to 30 minutes of small support per month

Business Care

£199/month
For systems used daily by multiple staff.
  • Everything in Standard Care
  • Higher priority support
  • Up to 2 hours of small fixes per month
  • Quarterly workflow review
  • Better fit for ongoing, evolving systems
Monthly care plans cover hosting, backups, updates, support, and small fixes depending on the plan. New features, larger workflow changes, integrations, and new modules are quoted separately or billed at the agreed hourly rate. Care plans are designed for normal business support — they are not 24/7 SLA contracts.

Real systems, built for real operational businesses

Operations · Ongoing

Operations dashboard with evolving workflows

Problem
Day-to-day operations tracked across spreadsheets and manual processes, with workflow requirements no off-the-shelf tool could match.
Solution
A custom internal dashboard covering the company’s core records and processes, with role-based staff logins, status workflows, document handling, and reporting.
Outcome
The system runs the business’s daily admin and continues to grow — new modules and workflow changes are added as the business evolves.
Products & orders

Product & order management screens

Problem
Products, orders, and enquiries flowing through the business in ways that generic tools and spreadsheets couldn’t represent properly.
Solution
Internal management screens built around the company’s real product and order structure, connected to the way staff already work.
Outcome
Less duplicated admin and a system shaped around the business — not the other way round.
Leads & enquiries

Lead & enquiry tracking workflows

Problem
Structured multi-step admin with document collection and status tracking at each stage — the kind of process generic CRMs handle poorly.
Solution
CRM-style tracking screens for managing enquiries, applications, statuses, documents, and internal review steps in one place.
Outcome
A structured, multi-step admin process carried end to end in a single system instead of scattered records.

Client details are kept private — these summaries are intentionally anonymised. On a call, I’m happy to talk through relevant experience in more detail.

About

A personal service, not a faceless agency

I’m Martin Holecek, a full-stack developer based in the Midlands, in the Derby area. I’ve been interested in programming since childhood and later studied Computer Science at the University of Derby, where I earned my bachelor’s degree.

Most of my professional work has been around practical business systems — admin dashboards, databases, workflow tools, integrations, and internal business screens that need to match how a real company operates. That includes ongoing admin dashboard development, business-specific management screens, product and order workflows, and CRM-style lead tracking flows — each business with its own workflows, screens, rules, and ongoing requirements.

My focus is practical systems, not overcomplicated software. The best admin dashboard is the one your staff actually use every day without thinking about it.

MHDev is intentionally small and personal. New projects are taken on selectively to keep the work personal, focused, and properly supported.

Reliability, security & care

Built to be secure, stable and maintainable

The dashboard is treated as a managed business system, not a throwaway website. The care plan focuses on secure access, clear support boundaries, stable hosting, SSL and database backups.

Systems are built with a maintainable structure, so they stay practical to support and improve over the years — with sensible permissions for staff, and clear boundaries around what the care plan covers and what is quoted as new development.

This is practical stability for small and medium-sized businesses — honest, well-managed care rather than enterprise-style SLA promises.

Secure access

Staff login and permissions appropriate for the system, so people only see what they should.

Managed hosting

Hosting setup and maintenance handled for you, without exposing you to technical complexity.

SSL & domain setup

A secure browser connection and professional domain configuration as standard.

Database backups

Backup setup is included in hosted care plans, so your business data isn’t a single copy.

FAQ

Common questions

Are these dashboards the same as CRMs?
Sometimes, but not always. If the system manages customers, enquiries, quotes, jobs, and follow-ups, it can work like a custom internal CRM. Other dashboards are broader business systems for stock, documents, reporting, admin workflows, or company-specific processes.
Why not just use off-the-shelf CRM software?
Off-the-shelf CRMs and business tools can work well for standard processes. Custom dashboards are useful when your business has specific workflows, custom statuses, unusual forms, internal rules, or admin processes that generic tools don’t fit properly.
Is the monthly price unlimited development?
No. Monthly care covers hosting, backups, updates, support, and small fixes depending on the plan. New features, modules, integrations, and larger changes are quoted separately or billed at the agreed hourly rate.
Can the system change after launch?
Yes. The first version is usually an MVP focused on the most important workflow. After launch, new features can be added as separate paid work.
Where is the system hosted?
Hosting is set up and managed as part of the monthly care plan, with SSL, secure staff login, and database backups included. You don’t need to deal with any of the technical side.
Do you build normal websites?
I can build simple business websites, especially when they connect to an admin system, but my main focus is custom admin dashboards and internal business tools.
Do you build customer portals?
My public service is focused on internal admin dashboards for staff. If a portal is needed as part of a larger custom system, that can be discussed separately, but it is not the standard starting point.
Do you provide SEO?
I offer basic technical SEO audits and practical recommendations. I do not provide ongoing content writing, link building, or monthly SEO content packages.
Do you offer 24/7 support or uptime guarantees?
No. MHDev is a small, personal service focused on custom admin systems for small businesses. Care plans include normal support, hosting, backups, updates, and small fixes, but they are not 24/7 SLA contracts.
Get in touch

Tell me about your admin problem

The best first step is a short, free call — 20–30 minutes to understand your business problem and decide together whether a custom admin dashboard makes sense.

Fill in the form and I’ll get back to you personally. The more you can tell me about your current process — the spreadsheets, the paperwork, the double entry — the more useful my first reply can be.

  • I read every enquiry myself and reply personally.
  • If it looks like a good fit, we book a free 20–30 minute call.
  • No pressure and no obligation — if a custom dashboard isn’t the right answer, I’ll say so.
New projects are taken on selectively. Please include a short description of the admin problem or workflow you want to improve. I work with a small number of clients at a time so each system gets proper attention before and after launch.
